Herefordshire Wildlife Trust

New this year, we’re partnering with the Ross branch of the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust to showcase gardens that include wild garden elements. There’s more information in the brochure.

Wild Play Workshop

Friday, 30th May, 2.00 – 4.00pm – at the Ross Community Garden.

FREE with an Open gardens brochure, otherwise, entry by donation. Fun for all the family. Come along and take part in wild activities. The WildPlay Rangers feel passionately that children need the opportunity for joyful and playful experiences outdoors. Chances to manage and take their own risks, build their confidence and make judgements independently. These early connections with nature supports all areas of development as well as health and wellbeing.

“My two daughters attended one of the WildPlay days which was provided last week. They both had a really great day, learnt lots of new things and came home with some fab craft creations. I’m just writing to thank you so much for providing them with this amazing opportunity and day”

Music in Country Churches – Concerts

This year, we’re proud to be partnering with Music in Country Churches and Herefordshire Historic Churches Trust to bring two very high profile concerts to St Mary’s.

This organisation exists to bring London orchestras and choirs out into the sticks to perform in some of the country’s most beautiful churches. We are honoured to be working with them. Full details and booking below.

Ross Open Gardens is one of the long term fundraising projects initiated by The Friends and takes place on alternate years over the first weekend in June. The event usually involves around 20 gardens that are open in the town centre, with a walking route between them. All money raised comes to the Friends of St Mary’s and is used to repair and enhance the fabric of St Mary’s Church.

Could you open your garden in 2027 as part of our whole town effort. Or could you offer some time over the weekend to help with the organisation (parking, selling refreshments, oversee other people’s gardens …) please let us know if you’re interested and we’ll tell you more.

Please continue to enjoy your gardens and keep growing exciting plants and creating new features.
